Job Description

Position Title: Electrical Technician

Location: On-site (Industrial Premises / Oil & Gas Terminals)

Reporting To: Electrical Superintendent / Project Manager

Job Summary

The Industrial Electrical Technician is responsible for performing installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment and systems within high-spec industrial and hazardous premises (e.g., BP / SOCAR sites). The candidate must possess strong technical competence and strict commitment to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, including Permit to Work (PTW) protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Install, gland, terminate and maintain industrial electrical systems, including LV/MV cables, switchgear, UPS units, control panels, transformers, and distribution boards, junction boxes and cable trays.

Perform cable checks and tests and assist with commissioning activities.

Work on EX-rated equipment in hazardous areas, ensuring strict adherence to ATEX / IECEx standards and IP ratings.

Diagnose electrical faults and equipment failures.

Strict compliance with site-specific HSE regulations, Risk Assessments, Method Statements and PTW systems. Conduct Tool Box Talks (TBT) prior to start of work.

Mark up red-line drawings, cable schedules, and maintain daily progress logs.

Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in industrial projects (Oil & Gas, Energy, or Heavy Industry). Direct experience on BP or SOCAR sites is highly preferred.

Skills: Proficient in reading single-line diagrams (SLDs), schematic drawings, and cable schedules. Familiarity with glanding and terminating armored cables (SWA).

Languages: Working knowledge of English and Georgian
