Investment Officer

About ArcticBlu Capital

ArcticBlu Capital is a digital-first asset management company that connects frontier markets with global opportunities. We are building a platform for actively managed, institutional-grade multi-asset portfolios, offered to investors through our own mobile app. ArcticBlu Capital is headquartered in Tbilisi and is a registered Asset Management Company regulated by the National Bank of Georgia.

The Role

We are looking for a person who wants to join our investment team as an Investment Officer and cover fixed income research across the firm's portfolios. You will work directly with the CEO and cover the fixed income side of our investment process: US Treasuries and interest rates, investment-grade and high-yield credit, and emerging-market debt. The role combines macro and rates analysis, bottom-up credit research and day-to-day portfolio support and trading.

Key Responsibilities

Macro and Rates

Monitor the US Treasury curve, Federal Reserve policy, global interest rates and macroeconomic data

Turn rates and macro developments into concrete recommendations on duration and curve positioning

Split bond returns into their interest-rate and credit-spread components, and assess relative value across maturities, ratings and sectors

Credit Research

Analyse sovereign issuers, covering growth, fiscal position, external balances, reserves, exchange-rate regime, debt sustainability and political risk

Analyse banks and their senior and subordinated instruments, covering capital adequacy, asset quality, funding and liquidity, and profitability

Analyse corporate and quasi-sovereign issuers, starting from business operations through leverage, liquidity, covenants and refinancing risk

Compare each issuer with peers on fundamentals and spread, and reach a clear view on whether a bond is cheap, fair or expensive

Write concise credit memos and present investment cases to the CEO

Monitor covered issuers on an ongoing basis, including financial results, rating actions, new issues, and macro news

Portfolio Support

Analyse fixed income instruments and their role in multi-asset portfolio construction

Monitor duration, credit quality, concentration and liquidity of fixed income holdings against investment limits

Prepare portfolio updates, performance attribution and risk reports

Support the CEO in day-to-day portfolio management, including trade execution and record keeping

Use Bloomberg, Python and AI research tools to make research and monitoring faster and more accurate

Qualifications

2- 4 years of relevant experience in fixed income research, credit analysis, bond trading or sales, bank treasury, a rating agency, a central bank or an international financial institution

Strong command of bond mathematics: yield to maturity, duration and convexity, spread measures (G-spread, Z-spread, asset swap spread), carry and roll-down

Ability to analyse financial statements of banks and non-financial companies, and to assess sovereign credit

Working knowledge of credit markets, including emerging-market and high-yield debt

Hands-on experience with Bloomberg fixed income functions

Advanced Excel skills; Python is a plus

Fluent English (C1/C2), with clear and concise writing

Accuracy and attention to detail - in fixed income, a basis point matters

A real interest in markets: you follow bond markets because you enjoy it, not because you have to

Advantages

Having passed CFA Level II

What We Offer

A key role in a small investment team, working directly with the CEO on investment decisions

Real responsibility from day one

Access to professional market data and research tools

A small, ambitious team where your work is visible and your ideas are used

A competitive salary
