Role Description The Second Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Batumi, responsible for assisting in the safe and efficient operation of the vessel’s engine room and technical systems. This role includes monitoring and maintaining main and auxiliary machinery, performing routine inspections, and executing preventive and corrective maintenance. The Second Engineer supports troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical issues, ensures compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and keeps accurate maintenance and operational records. Daily responsibilities also involve coordinating with the Chief Engineer and other crew members, supervising assigned technical staff, and contributing to emergency drills and safety procedures on board.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess skills in Marine Operations and Maritime procedures.

Candidates should possess knowledge of STCW standards and related safety regulations.

Candidates should possess abilities in Maintenance & Repair of marine engines and auxiliary equipment.

Candidates should possess experience working with Boat systems and onboard technical equipment.

Relevant maritime engineering certification or license as per international and local regulations.

Experience in an engine room role on commercial or similar vessels.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.

Ability to work in a diverse crew environment, with good communication and teamwork skills.

Willingness to follow established safety procedures and participate in ongoing training.
